I don’t mean some sort of half brewed plot to fill in the wholes that the romance left, or simply moving around Simone and Baz to push them together, but an actual well, nicely thought out plot. While the story might silly, I was pleasantly surprised with how great the plot was. Spells are often simple human phrases, pop culture references or song lyrics and while it might be silly, its easy to get used to and quite pleasant, cracking a couple of laughs out me and my friends at the ungodly amount of references it has. The world of Carry On perfectly stands on its own along with its characters and it introduces some new and refreshingly hilarious mechanics. His girlfriend doesn’t seem to want anything to do with him,the school’s head master and mentor, The Mage seems to be avoiding him, and a magic eating creature is running around devoiding the world of magic while wearing his face. His roommate and evil vampire Baz would be having a field day with this… If only he had bothered to show up, remaining nowhere to be found.Įven while the story is an obvious reimagining of Harry Potter, it is nowhere close to some sort of wish fulfillment fanfiction of Harry and Draco.
